The Surgical Subspecialties Interest Group had a panel of seven 4th year students who will be going into different surgical residencies this summer. We had 5 who matched into general surgery, one who matched into orthopedic surgery, and one who matched into urology. They discussed why they became interested in surgery and a bit about their path through medical school that led them to apply into surgical programs. They then gave some tips about the process of applying and interviewing. The students gave great advice and a positive outlook on their respective surgical specialty areas.
