Our Back to School Banquet hosted American Medical Association President Jeremy Lazarus, MD, Alachua County Medical Society President Christopher Cogle, MD, university faculty and administrators, and first, second, third and fourth year medical students. Held during the first month of the 2012-2013 academic year, this was one of the first opportunities for first year students to learn more about the AMA, the FMA, ACMS, and the role of a medical student in each organization. Attendees enjoyed heavy hor d’oeuvres and discussion about the current state and future of healthcare.
