Purpose of Trip: The PROS/ SIOP 2013 meeting is an international meeting for pediatric radiation oncology. This meeting is the largest of its kind, and in the past few years has been in Europe. It will be in Louisville this year, and this provides a unique opportunity for UF students to attend. The meeting is attending by radiation oncologists, residents, and other medical professionals treating pediatric cancer. UF is one of 7 institutes in the country that has the technology to safely treat pediatric cancers, at the UF Proton Therapy Institute. This meeting is a prime opportunity for students interested in pediatrics and oncology to attend a conference of professionals and experts in the field, and to learn from these individuals. There will be abundant opportunity for UF students to hear about late breaking research, new developing protocols, and methods of patient care. The students in attendance at the conference will be able to report back and share the new information they learn at the meeting with peers. The goal of UF students attending this meeting to exchange knowledge and data, while promoting research knowledge and education.

The flight price is based on April travel dates through southwest. Southwest does not book flights in May currently. The flights out of Gainesville are approximately $440. Flights out of MCO and JAX are up to $400/pp.
