What is the Purpose of the Event? We would like to request funds to buy durable trellises for our medical school garden. These trellises will be used to support bean, pea, tomato, squash plants, etc. Buying durable trellises such as metal ones will prevent us from having to buy temporary ones from year to year.
What is the Benefit to the State, the university, and/or your organization? The garden benefits the medical school by teaching students about organic and sustainable farming practices. Anyone who puts time into the garden can then harvest food. As future physicians, this is a great tool to learn about healthy eating that we can pass on to our patients in the future.

Questions/Concerns
I realize these seem expensive, but to make our own bamboo trellises will cost about $150 and will only last one growing season (we plant spring and fall).
