EMSA helped to sponsor a group of medical students to attend the annual Society of Academic Emergency Medicine conference in Atlanta from May 16th to 18th. During the conference students were able to attend multiple poster sessions, abstract presentations and didactic lectures along with participating in a Residency Fair. The highlight of the conference was the opportunity to attend the Medical Student Symposium on Friday. This event brought together multiple residency program directors to give presentations and advice on how to best prepare for matching in Emergency Medicine. During this UF students were able to have small group discussions with multiple residency program directors and medical students from across the country. Overall, this trip allowed students to hear about current developments in Emergency Medicine, get advice on how to match, and provided a great networking opportunity with both other medical students and Emergency Medicine faculty.
