The SNMA and AMSA partnered to sponsor a lunch talk with Dr. Cook about disparities in HIV/AIDS. Dr. Cook talked to us about the history of HIV/AIDS in the United States and then led a very interesting discussion with us about disparities in access to diagnoses, treatment, and care related to HIV/AIDS. At the end, Dr. Cook provided us with some very useful and helpful ideas for reaching out to any of our patients and he related to us the importance of recognizing each patient as a diverse human being.
