What is the Purpose of the Event? To encourage socialization between students in our program. This event is also an opportunity for the new 1st year students to interact with senior students and gather information useful for new students to choose a PhD mentor.
What is the Benefit to the State, the university, and/or your organization? This event will encourage team building within our organization. Socializing with other students in the program is imperative to initiating scientific collaborations.

I have already spoken to David Moshe about returning money from two projects that we want to use for this project instead. This would just be reallocating those funds and is not a request for additional money that wasn’t already in our budget.
