Purpose of Trip: This application is placed by the UF Radiology Interest Group (RIG) for funding to attend Florida’s inaugural regional Interventional Radiology Medical Student Symposium on Dec 5, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency, Miami, Florida. We are interested in attending this conference with the goal of hearing from and interacting with speakers from radiology training programs throughout Florida to learn more about the field of Interventional Radiology. We hope to provide UF medical students with the opportunity to meet faculty, residents, and fellows, and to learn more about the field of Interventional Radiology from current practitioners and researchers.

Interventional Radiology is a field that is not explored in detail during the first two years of medical training, so we feel that attending this conference will allow students an extremely valuable opportunity to learn more about an underexplored field.

Registration to this event is free for medical students, so we will be asking MCC to cover transportation fees to Miami, FL (one motor vehicle). Costs are estimated to be $75.00 for gas (travel of about 700 miles) + $40.00 for tolls for a total of $115.00.
