Event held by ObGyn – Ob/Gyn Interest Group on 05/14/2018:
Dr. Nancy Hardt, a pioneer for health disparities in Alachua County, and retired professor of OB/GYN and pathology at UF COM, came to speak about why we should not restrict a woman’s right to choose. She explored the most common reasons she has learned by physicians who perform abortions as to why women get them in the first place. She elaborated on topics like date rape, access to contraception, human trafficking, and education on pregnancy and STI prevention in schools. She related each topic back to data from Alachua county, and stimulated conversation amongst the crowd on these heavy, but important topics.
