March 8th is International Women's day. The 2019 theme Think equal, build smart, innovate for change focuses on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities. We cannot ignore our differences, but we can use our differences as a strength to build a just and equal future for all.
During this event, Dr. Capua and Dr. Khoshbouie will lead us through a discussion loosely based off of a TEDTalk by Soraya Chemaly. Please join us on this historic day to discuss certain hardships faced in academia and how we can utilize our strengths to work together and persist together.
