Event held by SSIG – Surgical Subspecialties Interest Group on 08/21/2019:
The Surgical Subspecialties Interest Group (SSIG) held its first meeting of the fall semester to introduce students of the College of Medicine to the field of general surgery and its wide range of subspecialties. Our faculty mentor, Dr. Alexander Ayzengart, gave an introduction talk to speak on these topics, as well as his experience and advice to students on how to prepare to apply for a general surgery residency. Dr. Ayzengart is a surgeon here at UF specializing in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgery. He also served as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Medical Corp and practiced global surgery.
