Event held by IMSA on 09/24/2019:
The Indian Medical Students Association (IMSA) had its first meeting two weeks ago to welcome the new MS1s and highlight some of the events we are planning to have this semester (Garba, Diwali, etc). After introductions, we had a group discussion about some of the stereotypes we have faced this far, how these have extended to a workplace setting and established a space for support in medical school. We are currently in the process of setting up different cultural dance workshops and discussed an opportunity mentorship for underrepresented minorities at UF. We hope to bring more cultural programming soon!
