EMSA – Procedure-Palooza

Event held by EMSA – Emergency Medicine Student Association on 01/27/2020:

Procedure-Palooza was an incredible opportunity to practice performing procedures with the guidance of residents and attendings from various specialties in an informal and low-stress environment. Procedures included lumbar punctures, casting, intubation, central line placement, IV placement, ultrasound reading, EKG reading, CPR technique, and suturing. Doctors from Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Sports Medicine as well as staff from the Simulation Lab helped students become familiar with performing these procedures in preparation for being on the wards in third and fourth year. This was the 10th anniversary of this event, and Dr. Ryan and Dr. Morrissey, EMSA’s faculty advisors, as well as Dean Tyndall, all made appearances ensure that it was a success.
