What is the Purpose of the Event? The American Academy of Pa's (AAPA) is a society that advocates and educates on behalf of the PA profession. AAPA hold a once a year conference for Physician Assistant's, students, and pre-pa students to come and learn information to assist in care of patients. Along with conferences, it also hosts "Challenge Bowl" for students in current PA programs to compete. We will be sending 4 students to the conference this year to compete, and the money requested are for the hotel room stay during their time there.
What is the Benefit to the State, the university, and/or your organization? The University of Florida has a history of completing yearly in challenge bowl. The students will travel to Nashville and represent our program and the University of Florida. It will spread word to pre-PA students and provide a networking event.
