Event held by OphthoIG – Ophthalmology Interest Group on 11/11/2020:
The Ophthalmology Interest Group hosted Dr. Chen, a vitreoretinal specialist at UF Health and advisor for OphthoIG, who discussed her career and mentored students through the process of preparing and applying for an Ophthalmology residency. She also discussed the wide array of fellowship programs that exist within the field of Ophthalmology and new technology that is currently being employed in the treatment of severe eye disease. Finally, she shared her area of interest, inherited retinal disease, and the new gene therapies that are being developed to cure these devastating diseases.
