Florida Global Surgery Hackathon

Event held by GSMIG – Global Surgery and Medicine Interest Group on 02/20/2021:

Students from across the globe collaborated to hack problems presented to them by surgeons who are actively involved in global surgery today. Problems ranged from access to care to lack of materials to differing approaches to surgery. Our keynote was presented by Dr. Robin Petroze, UF pediatric surgeon, on sustainable partnerships in global surgery. Follow-up discussions included talks from Dr. Juan Callisto (FIU) and Dr. Enrique Ginzburg (Miami).
