Event held by GSMIG – Global Surgery and Medicine Interest Group on 05/12/2021:
SSIG (Surgical Subspecialties Interest Group) and GSMIG (Global Surgery & Medicine Interest group) organized this great event on Wednesday (May 12th) from 12-1 pm for those interested in surgery or considering a general surgery specialty or subspecialty. We had an interactive panel of five graduating 4th-year medical students who successfully matched into surgical residencies. They discussed the General Surgery Residency application and interview process, tips and tricks that they’ve learned from this past year, and advice on how to navigate preclinical and clerkship years. They also described their own journey through medical school and some of the challenges they faced along the way.
