Dr. Sheryl Fleisch is the Chief of Psychiatric Services at UFHealth Shands and the Chief of Health Equity in the Department of Psychiatry. She is internationally acclaimed for her work in psychiatric street care and for the Homeless Health Services program that she began while at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Today, she discussed with us the history and epidemiology of mental illness in the houseless population, the available resources, and a few novel ways that we might be able to help even as medical students.
