Event held by USIG – Ultrasound Interest Group on 09/22/2021:
Emergency physician Dr. Giuliano DePortu led a presentation introducing the use and importance of the eFAST exam (extended focused assessment with sonography in trauma). Afterwards, students had the opportunity to perform the eFAST on each other, with the guidance of Dr. DePortu. Students practiced handling the ultrasound machine and locating heart, kidneys, and other structures.
