Event held by HQA – HealthQueer Alliance on 12/01/2021:
The HQA got together to watch “How to Survive A Plague”, a documentary about the early years of the AIDS epidemic. We learned about the community’s response and how activism impacted the development of effective medical treatments. It was interesting to compare that epidemic to the current COVID epidemic, and see which things were the same and which things were different in the government’s approach to find effective treatments.
