UIG Robotic Simulation Lab

Event held by UIG – Urology Interest Group on 12/05/2021:

The Da Vinci surgical system is widely used in the field of urology for minimally invasive, robotic surgeries. UIG was thrilled to let students try “operating” on console systems used daily in a real OR! At our event, students got hands-on experience with the Da Vinci Xi robot, SP (single port) robot, and knot-tying station. Two stellar UF urology residents, Dr. Jeremy Archer (PGY-5) and Dr. Jordan Smith (PGY-1), personally instructed students.

Although we unfortunately had to limit our capacity to ten students, we will be hosting another robotic simulation lab in Spring 2022. Stay tuned. We love seeing students excited about the best specialty: urology!
