Event held by CVSIG – Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Interest Group on 10/12/2021:
The Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Interest Group held their first meeting of the semester from 6PM-7PM with Dr. Kirsten Freeman, a UF Health Cardiothoracic surgeon! She is very passionate about working with students and was very enthusiastic throughout the meeting, as were the students. Several topics were discussed ranging from the lifestyle of an intern, resident and attending to the balance allocated for clinical vs. research work as well as what opportunities are in the field to sub specialize. Everyone left with a better understanding of what this potential career path holds for them, and whether or not it is the right fit for them!
