HMIG – Intuitive Eating Disorders

Senior undergraduate Sara Patino, majoring in dietetics, discussed the principles behind Intuitive Eating and discussed the importance of Intuitive Eating as it relates specifically to Eating Disorders but also the rest of the population. More than 30 students from pharmacy, dental, physician’s assistant, and medical programs were in attendance.

HMIG – Five Element Acupuncture

HMIG’s session on acupuncture featured Misti Oxford-Pickeral, CEO of Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL. Students learned about the theory behind Five Element Acupuncture and also saw demonstrations of acupuncture techniques.

SNMA Suture Clinic with MAPS

On Friday October 5, 2012 SNMA held its first suture and knot tying clinic. The clinic was staffed by Dr. Richards. First and second year medical students attended the event as well as some undergraduate students from MAPs. Altogether the event was a success and integral skills were honed.
