Welcome to the Internal Medicine Interest Group!

The mission of the Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) is to introduce and inform the UFCOM community about the field of internal medicine, both general practice and specialty branches.  We look forward to meeting all of you who are interested in this field through lunch meetings, special events, and educational workshops through the IMIG to engage and equip you in your pursuit of medicine. We plan on accomplishing our mission through:

  • Shadowing opportunities with internal medicine physicians
  • Hosting meetings with internists who specialize in the corresponding system we are learning
  • Interactive workshops on procedures such as central line placements and biopsy simulations
  • Grand rounds-style case presentations
  • Community outreach programs that increase awareness of some of the most common diseases affecting Gainesville
