Welcome to the Radiation Oncology Committee!  

The Radiation Oncology Committee seeks to connect students with the exciting field of Radiation Oncology. We coordinate events that gather a community of interested students and practicing physicians, allowing for networking and education about the specialty.  

What is Radiation Oncology?  

Radiation Oncology is a medical specialty that treats cancer with radiation therapy. It is a highly collaborative field that utilizes advanced technology. The Radiation Oncology residency is typically five years long, and it includes a more generalized intern year first. For more information, check out the other resources below.

Anticipated Opportunities for Students

  • Radiation Oncology Speaker Series: Inviting guest faculty and residents to speak about their career paths, research, and advice. 
  • Introduction to Radiation Oncology Workshop: Overview of radiation oncology workflows, treatment planning, and case examples. 
  • Residency Application Panel: Discussion about preparing for a career in radiation oncology, including tips for early medical school planning. 
  • Research Opportunities: Email updates (when applicable) about research projects available within the Department of Radiation Oncology.
