Welcome to the Simulation in Medicine Committee!
Simulation in medicine uses clinical scenarios, procedural task training, and mannequin-based simulation to recreate patient care situations in a safe learning environment. The SIM committee gives students earlier access to these hands-on experiences, helping to connect classroom material with realistic clinical scenarios while developing clinical reasoning, teamwork, communication, and practical skills before encountering similar situations with real patients.
Events
SIM will organize course-aligned sessions for preclinical students, with content developed in collaboration with course directors and CELS leadership. Events will use a small-group format with brief, focused scenarios so students can actively participate, receive feedback, and build confidence approaching common clinical situations as a team.
