Welcome to the Indian Medical Students Association!
Our mission is to embrace the diversity of our school by bringing together medical students of Indian origin and to bring awareness to Indian culture and representation in medicine. Our goal is to provide a space where the UF COM community can participate in conversations about issues related to Indian Americans in healthcare and help foster a culturally competent medical community.
We plan to host talks focused on the integration of Indian culture into medicine, unique perspectives offered by physicians and medical students of Indian origin, and yearly panels of resident and healthcare professionals of Indian origin. We also would like to participate in larger scale events at UF that celebrate Indian culture such as Holi, Garba, and Diwali.
