Welcome to the Music Society!
The purpose of the Music Society is to bring arts in medicine to our local and global communities, to foster musical abilities among health care professional students, and to integrate our artistic skills to enhance individual and community health.
What is the Music Society?
The Music Society is a collaboration of singers and instrumentalists within the College of Medicine. Our organization exists as a meeting ground for students to find other musicians, to work together, and to bring music to the field of medicine. There is a formal a cappella group, The Notachords, and there are opportunities to for instrumentalists of any skill level to collaborate on pieces.
The Music Society has at least one service event per semester, namely performances in the Shands hospital with Arts in Medicine. The group has been featured in events such as the UF COM talent show and the Harrell Medical Education Building Grand Opening. There are no auditions and anyone who loves music is welcome to join!
