SHMPS – Society of Health and Medical Physics

The Society of Health and Medical Physics (SHMPS) at the University of Florida is a group for students who are interested in learning about and educating others about radiation protection and medical uses of radiation. Community service is a large part of SHMPS. Activities include Road to Recovery, where students can give rides to patients undergoing cancer treatment; and dinner at the Hope Lodge, where the group members cook food for cancer patients and interact with them through games or conversation. SHMPS is now a part of the College of Medicine, and any student from UF may join.
