MSFC Contraceptives Information Dinner

UF COM’s MSFC Chapter was honored to host a wonderful speaker and educator from the Planned Parenthood office here in Alachua County for a dinner meeting on Tuesday, February 11. She presented information on many types of contraceptives, and answered all of our questions and provided very relevant clinical information that we will use to help counsel our patients, friends, and family about their contraceptive options (everything from efficacy to questions about how to use a certain method and how to take into account patient preferences). We were also very excited to provide pocket cards for all attendees that covered important information about contraceptive options, which we hope will help students as they begin their rotations in the next few years and as they are asked questions about these important topics. We also had IUD models on hand so that we could see how insertion works and our speaker had also brought examples of all of the different methods of contraceptives, so we were able to look at them up close and educate ourselves. It was a wonderful evening and we are so grateful for the support of Planned Parenthood and the MCC!
